Shelter has been manufacturing high-end phono cartridges since the company was established in 1986 in Japan. All Shelter MC phono cartridges are hand-made at a workshop in Japan by adept craftsanship. Shelter cartridges are all inspected and quality-assured by Yasuo Ozawa, the designer and founder of Shelter. Shelter’s MC Photo cartridges are divided into two major lines. The first Shelter cartridges series, “Ultimate Line”, consists of 60t dry-carbon fibre housing and uses analog playback. The other Shelter cartridges series, “Legendary Line”, uses analog playback technology of the 80’s. Both lines use carefully selected components and maintain a simple structure with minimum model changes. Shelter cartridges are known to have a long lifetime and are well-built to last.
